Hello, I need some help, I have been looking for information on line to help me raise my seven week old Sun. Maybe I'm bad at it I am not sure, but I cannot find much. We have feeding down, although he asks for more when he should be quite full. and the frequency of his pooping I can't figure out. It is deffinately not 15 - 20 Minutes most times a lot longer. Can some one either fill me in or send me links? It would be greatly appreciated!!!  |

Hi there, welcome to fluffies. Are you feeding it by hand? I expect so because of the age? Did the breeder or store show you how to do this?
It CANNOT be taught online! It would be VERY irresponsible to try you to teach handfeeding. 
How much do you give him? I have heard this: Take his weight (in the morning when he's empty) then take ten percent of it. That's how much mililiter you should feed him. Ofcourse, you give him less as he grows up. I hope the store or breeder told you how to do this?
Do you wait until he empties his crop between the feedings? This is very important!!

First off his name is Cosmo, and i have pictures on my cell phone, i just cant figure out how to get them to my pc. Don't worry too much about Cos, my husband works at a pet store, and is hand feeding certified. he just always seems like he wants more. 20-30cc 7am 3pm 7pm
And he does not poop every 15-20min maybe once or twice an hour. Three times tops. and his crop is always empty by the next feeding. I am just looking for an everything and anything information about baby sun conures. I hope to get pictures to you soon!!

Awww Cosmo, the little guy from the world..
I'm glad to hear that your husband is certified to feed birds by hand. Sorry I was a bit worried. 
What kind of phone do you have? You might want to buy a small cardreader. Do you have a card in your phone? MMC? SD? |
