Good news!  Reply with quote

well, today..
poor Sonnie thought he could fly....and he can't, so he fell in between my bed, and the table his cage is on......
I went walking...well running really....over to make sure he was fine...and I saw that he was, and I just wanted to see what he would do on his own....well, he just followed me right over to where I keep their food and treats as I got him one.....
I think he trusts me again!!!
the problem is...now I'M afraid of HIM.....so I just put on a sweatshirt, and grabbed his "step-up" stick and he stepped right up and let me put him on the cage....then when he was on his cage...he let me give him head scratches!!!!

what I didn't mention is that I sat down on the floor to play with him a bit, and he came right over to me and almost climbed up onto my knee!!!!!!!!!
now I just need to get over my fear........ I'm a chicken right now, and I need to re-build my trust in him......

Lyniz,

I know what you mean. Carrie is that way big time. But if you don't bite back the fear and show her that you are not afraid, then it could get worest.

I know how you feel Lynzi. There are a few of our birds that I don't handle much or at all. I have only braved holding Alex once for a short while. Tank is unhandable right now as he is deathly afraid of hands. Taz I have picked up a few times and I need to try harder with him as he doesn't like John so that leaves me to handle him and it makes me quite nervous. I get out the long sleeves and even put more padding under the sleeves. Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed . Cody does not let me hold him either. I figure in time I will be able to hold them all. At least I hope I will. Smile

I was so nervous that he would attack my hand that was holding him on the "step-up stick" so I put three socks on my hand, and then pulled my hoodie over it.... Embarassed
