I am getting a baby sun conure. I bought a book and have been reading bout them.. I also have annabell the U2. So any advice?

oh the projectile poops!! yes, definitely stock up on the tee-shirt... lol.. or at least lots of washing detergent anyway.. :p
remember to quarantine your new bird when it comes home. I would normally quarantine all my birds for the full period of 35 days even after a vet has cleared it's health. |

Good Luck with your new birdie!!!!! I havnt got a sun conure but i would love to get one as they are really beautiful. Iheard that they can be really noisey.

I have had a U2 (as a foster) and I current have a Sun. The U2 is by far the more, ah shell we say...vocal. Yes to Cheeta suggestion of a quarantine period. Keep her away from your U2. Your U2 is a new addition as well, so you really want to keep them apart. When they do get together (in the same room) The U2 will hurt the Sun unless you watch them real close. The Tee shirt, the Sun loves to sit inside your shirt and ride around. I have heard this from many sun owners. But while they are there, they chew holes in anything they can grab. Carrie has a whole drawer full of her "Bird Shirts" some are so bad that they would be consider X-Rated..

oh yesssss! lots and lots of t-shirts!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't know Conures would chew holes in things....I ruined many a gooooood shirt. so I went to a local salvation store and stocked up on shirts at a buck a piece..... good luck and CONGRATS!!!! I must say, that Conures are notorious for being clowns, and will keep you laughing all the time.....I'm excited for you!! |
