On that repeating Pete Parrot.........Most of our birds are afraid of it too. Piwi is the only brave one.......

Hi Haley....when John was out on the web today he sent me this link maybe you can research. It was about insurance for pets including birds.

I really read through it and the canadian site only does dogs and cats.....sorry. Even here the insurance was pretty expensive. Sorry it wasn't much help. In our case it totally isn't feasible. We just rely on an emergency fund, a credit card and a vet who is very flexible in emergency cases.

Regarding the Budgies & the All about Pets Show in April + PASO:
I thought I'd contact her the week before the show if nothing goes right around here. I was hoping she'd bring some to the show.
I still don't have my second cage - that's why i was looking into the other birds -as they all came with cages & i don't have to traipse over to my parents for a temporary one.
Thanks for being such a caring Budgie owner.
(I posted this on my site but thought I should get back to you more directly! ) |

ok, thanks!
So you know Nancy? I really want her to bring some of her's to the show--I'm looking forward to seeing Simon (U2) and Iris (B&G) again, and I'ld like to see Max (catalina macaw). as well as others.
Next weekend I might go up to adopt a budgie. I might adopt more later.

No I don't know Nancy personally - I've just been a fan of her site for a long time & Lauraine [sp] from DAS recommended contacting her when i was getting my first bird. As it turned out Laker popped up on Petfinder - at the Burlington Shelter - so off I went.
Hope I don't sound too shallow but his markings were what i've always liked - not that most Budgies aren't just too cute & beautiful as well - like your Lovely Opaline.
I saw an Opaline with Laker's yellow-face blue, at the Toronto Humane site but I haven't gone down - not having the cage.....
Maybe I'll just contact Nancy & see what she says. Just don't want to get her hopes up & then adopt another one...... |

I am sure Marvin is in a good and loving home. You were a great foster mom and it was probably hard for you to have given Marvin up. Good Luck Marvin |
