Cheeta, you have taken some fantastic photos. I especially looove the one of the 2 'Twenty Eights' on your hand feeding. Are the birds this tame with everyone who feeds them at the park?

Thanks everyone for your comments. Apollo has found his love for flying! Finally!! LOL.
Susan, yes those birds are as friendly to the next person that rocks up with seeds! But they do look for sunflower seeds though as they prefer that! So if someone was to stand next to me with a seed mix, with me hold a bunch of sunflower seeds, the birds will choose me to land on first. Finish those seeds then fly off next door! Cheeky things they are. |

Thanks Ziya-Cilek
as with the pigeons, well they are definitely not afraid of the parrots. One of them would fight them off if a cockatoo trys to take his space on our arm! I've even got a short video footage of it! I jsut need to shrink it down so i can post it here.
Thanks again |

I noticed the one staring has a band on his foot. Is he an escapee? |

Hi Shell,
You know I didn't even see that when I posted it. I saw that bird at the park had wondered the same thing. Except the thing is this one isn't very friendly. He likes to eat from a distance I think if I remember it correctly. As well I'm not sure if you can see it properly the band isn't a breeder band. It somewhat looks more like a round wire clip on it's leg. It's loose, so I didn't really worry about it cutting circulation off, and it didn't seem to bother it too much. I would think that it's an escapee pure for the fact that there's no way a bird can get that onto it's leg all by itself. But I don't know why anyone would put a piece of wire around it's leg like that with no information what so ever!! Sorry I can't really help clear it up at all.

Hi Ziya-Cilek
I think it's because these pigeons hang out at the park with these cockatoos all day, so I think they kinda got used to it. It's just part of their life I guess!! |

I've seen the bands before, I don't know why they use those ones either they seem a bit useless. Maybe he was an avary bird, it's good to see he has adapted to living in the wild. |

COOL tree! I LOVE the flowers! Thanks for posting those, as I've never seen one before, that I can recall.
And the photos of Apollo meeting the kucaburro (sp?) are just awesome!! Great shots! He looks so fearsome, yet comical at the same time, esp knowing it's a stuffed one Awwww, he looks so relieved on his daddys arm |
