Been reading alot lately and have gained a whole new inspiration to better the lives of my parrots. After some research, a trip to the hardware store, op-shops, and pet store I have started building a new gym for them that will hang off a hook in the roof of the spare room. If I can override mum and get my way on this, the spare room will be the parrot room so that they can have alot more flight time (even when we are out). They can have the run of the house still when we are home but this room will mean that they are no longer locked up in thier cages when we go out or when our cats are inside. Im hoping to be able to securely attach Shrek's open door to the open window so that he can be in the room when he wants and go into his cage outside to get some sunshine since the room can be a little dingy. Will have to get some wire mesh to block off all the openings except the door area. If I can't find a way to do this safely I'll just have to wheel his cage into the room for flight time and out again for sun.
