My Weekend Trip Out of Town
Oh, I had quite a long, exciting weekend! I went with Cathy & that one guy down to Cathys moms house on the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. We also brought along Cathys furry friend, George. Here's a photo Cathy took of us in the back seat as we were heading out
The drive was awful long & I'm not sure if I really cared much for that long of a drive, but I kept quiet & didn't complain anyway. But after driving 6 hours with no activity, I certainly wasn't ready to be covered up & go to sleep when we arrived at Cathys moms house at about 11 PM. I got out of my travel cage to stretch for about 45 minutes, & I really didn't want to get back into that little cage, but Cathy was very tired & ready for bed. The next day went pretty well though. Cathys brother was also there visiting & he really likes me a lot & gave me a lot of attention! He carried me around & everything. Too bad Cathy didn't get a picture of the two of us, but she didn't have her camera out very much. Cathys mom likes me but she's afraid to touch me . She's a real nice lady tho. The weather there was very warm, so that one guy took my perch outside on the deck so I could enjoy the beautiful great outdoors with them.

Yeah, she insisted on throwing a picture of that guy in here too!
Dang, there sure are a lot of big, loud birds around there. The house sits right on the lake & there are even blue herons which I got to see. Cathy gets pretty excited about seeing them, but I was kind of startled by all the unfamiliar sights & sounds. It was real nice & safe inside the cozy house later in the evening though.
Seems like I was just getting comfy with the surroundings, when we had to turn around & make that long drive home again! I was very glad to be home though. As soon as Cathy set my travel cage on the floor next to my big cage at home, & opened it up, I immediately climbed into my home, sweet home & started chowing on some old food that had been left in there ! I didn't care that it was old, I was just glad to be back home! Poppy was very happy to see us! He started whistling up a storm as soon as he saw us & kept it up for a very long time! He didn't go with us because it's just too hard for Cathy to take both of us, & it's much easier to find a fiddy sitter for him than it is to find one for me! Lucky me, huh
