Bird show & Petrie won first place!

Today the fids (except fig) went to a bird show my bird club was putting on. There was judging, birds for sale, bird stuff for sale, raffle, and more. I thought I couldn't put my birdies in a show, because I didn't breed. But then a woman told me that they had special judging for pet birds, in two catagories. One was Entertainment and the other was appearence. Entertainment was for tricks and appearence for who had the best bird. I decided to enter Petrie in Appearence. so I filled out the form. I didn't think of winning, I thought it would be fun to see all the other pretty birds. Personally I thought the prize would go to some cockatoo or a bird breeder's austrailian parakeet. Soon it was time for the judging. All the birds who were in Appearence went to the table. First the judge looked at Petrie. Then she looked at Cuddles, a mullocan cockatoo. Then she looked at her own daughter's cockatiel. After that was done she said "First prize goes to the conure. He was faultless, in best condition and had a perfect tail and stuff". I was shocked! Second went to Cuddles and the cockatiel took home third. She gave me a pretty red ribbon. I was so happy! Then suddenly she brought out a big gold trophy! So now I had a trophy and ribbon. Well 2 ribbons, I got to wear one that said "exhibitor" on it. When cheekie saw that trophy and ribbon, he went crazy! He bit me and tried to push the trophy on the floor. So I bought him a happy hut. He seemed a little better after that. I entered the 50/50 draw. Then I saw the bird who won the Entertainment show. He was a mullocan cockatoo named Pete who won for his great dancing skills. Then I visited the crazy budgies and the baby birds for sale. I saw the most darling little pineapple green cheeks! About 5. All females. But $600?! I better no play with them too long then lol. Everyone thinks that their breeder should have entered them in best appearence. OMG I saw something so sweet!! Can you guess? A mullocan cockatoo dressed as a butler lol. Seriously. Ceasar decided she should come in stlyle and wore a mini suit with tails even and a little red napkin in the pocket! Rotfl! some birdies I can remember: 2 greys, easten rosella, another rosella, red rump mutation, 1000 budgies, 1006 canaries and finches, several cockatoos, 3 macaws (1 b&g  and 2 GWs) no shortage of ekkies, quakers, plets, a jardine's parrot, green cheeks and even a baby fiery-shoulder!!!!!! OMG! My mom loved the debryan parakeet. She liked his purple head. lol. Lots of lovies and tiels too. But who on earth could forget that darling little Amazon? A blue front. When I came over he said "hello" a lot and stepped up!! When I left he waved and said "bye bye".

Then GUESS WHAT happened? I went outside and a woman said "you won first place?" I said yes and she said she was a newpaper reporter and she asked about my birds, the show, the trophy. She took 2 pics for her newspaper and then went in. The pics were of me, trophy + ribbons, cheekie and petrie.

Update- sadly the pics did not make it into the paper oh well
