Meet Otis....

Otis is about seven to eight weeks old

Otis came from a friend of mine's aviary.  Otis is a Christmas presents from her.
Otis has had a bad start to life, but it seems that he's doing really well now. 
You see, Otis mommy and daddy decided that they were ready for another round of babies and decided to stop feeding them at a fairly young age.  So my friend had to take a risk of pulling them from the nest and hoping that they will start eating by themselves.
Unfortunately, Otis and his brother didn't take to the big wide world too kindly, and decided that they weren't going to eat afterall. so my friend had to pull them both out and force feed them. They didn't take to that kindly either.  they would regurgitate the food out once they were fed.  Unfortunately his little brother didn't make it due to malnutritions, and Itos wasn't looking very good.  Soooo my friend decided to take the biggest leap with this little guy and put him into the fledgling aviary hoping that having a whole lot of activities and new friends would spur the little guy on, and guess what.. it worked.. and now a couple weeks on, Otis is home with me.  He's still on a very skinny side of birds, but I'm working on filling his chest out. 
He's a silly little boy for sure.. I should change his name to Loopy since he likes going back and forth in little loops around the temporary quarantine cage (he'll move into a much bigger quarantine cage once Milo is out of quarantine in about six days).  I've got him on video doing the little loopy thing, but I have to get that uploaded. :D
