MY NEW BABY BUDGIES....... Well I have to say, the multiple birds syndrome has hit me again today...
and this time it hit me hard!! Hehe... I finished work today with the urge of wanting to look at baby budgies, so I went and got one of those advertising paper thing where people put ads in to sell stuff... and I found this lady about half an hour away from me that had some babies, or so she said over the phone anyway. She listed off some colours that I was interested in, so off I went. When I got there, she didn't have some babies... She had LOTS of baby budgies!!! She has three aviary full of breeding budgies and babies, and also a couple of cages where the breeding stock are resting after having two clutches. So that's good, it means she looked after her birds. They look really healthy and happy too. She also breeds cockatiels, but I think she has just started breeding them. Anyway, I was there for like forever looking at all her birds and I tell ya, I couldn't decide on which ones I wanted! I started off with thinking I'll get three, then it soon became five as I couldn't make up my mind which ones I wanted..... So anyway, eventually, when I was done looking, there were SEVEN baby budgies in my box!! LOL... Elise (the breeder lady) was so nice, she told me all about her birds, and even showed me some of the babies that are still in the nesting boxes.. oh speaking of nesting boxes, my hubby counted them, and said that there were well over 50 ove them there!! Man, now that's a lot of breeding budgies. :) She showed me this one beautiful grey baby, and he was HUGE!! but unfortunately he's still in the nesting box so I couldn't have him. :( I would have loved to have a big grey baby. That's ok, I ended up with a really nice grey spangled baby instead, not as big, but just as good looking. :) Oh yeah, well, and if you wondering, no they are not handreared birds. They came out of the aviary. but out of the seven babies, one of them is extremely tamed already, and another one is fairly tamed. Three is ok, but still abit shy, another one of freak out when I put my hand near it, and one has one heck of a bite!! I think she's the oldest one I have out of the lot that I got today... :) and oh, the price of all seven?? It was $90 for all 7... Not bad.. :) Considering I have two tamed ones in there. There are definitely three boys and three girls. One I'm not too sure yet, but it looks to be a girl as well. :) Oh I had so much fun today at Elise's place. :) I may be visiting her again soon!! LOL.. no just kidding. :D Anyway, enough typing, now here are the seven babies I got today.. I hope you like them, coz I love them to death!! already... hehe...
