I got a call last November from a co-worker where
I work in the afternoons at my second job.
He said that there was a big bird on the ground out back and I needed to see about it.
I get there and it was a Red Tailed Hawk that someone had shot.
The bullet had broken her wing as it passed through and she fell to the ground into the loading dock.
I approached her and she showed no fear so I wrapped her in a warm towel and took her to the wildlife vet.
They could not treat her so I had to fly her to Thomasville where I was met by the raptor center specialist
who airlifted her to Auburn Alabama for emergency surgery and then off to Amelia Island for rehab she went.

I truly am lucky to have reached out and touched the wings of Eagles.
