well i hope this helps. birdie safe not people safe the theory was to have a playstand that would gentley move when frisky landed on it something like a branch on a tree would. so i set to and got a piece of steel u channel drilled and then cut a thread into it fitted a quater diameter rod made a plate so the top plate of wood would be easy to fit , a pole, a round rod perch and a feed holder put it all together patted myself on the back for a great job done and took it inside calling my wife to come have a look and with a on my face, she enters the kitchen and said oh thats nice frisky will love it ,after a few minuites frisky lands on the perch and sure enough it swayed and of course i again pattered myself on the back and then sat back had a coffee and enjoyed frisky doing his thing . now here is where it all comes undone needing to get some thing out of the cubboard walks past the playstand bumped it and down it goes with a big bang to the floor the big gone i am now i have made a birdie safe but not people safe playstand.........the reason why the base not heavy and large enough to support the top weight so dont do as i always make sure the base will do the job be people and birdie safe ....
