New Budgie
New Cage
New Perch/Playgym
 2009

Our New Budgie

RainBow

hatch date November 11th, 2008
A breeder has said he feels Bow is a:
Yellow face type 2, Sky blue, Dutch Pied Opaline.

This is Bow's father and Bow when he was 1 month old.

Bow came from a breeder in Oshawa - North East of Toronto.
She really took her time with him - He is wonderfully tame & loving.
In fact you can hardly go anywhere without him.

We are very happy with this little fellow.
Rio is in shock I think.
He's been alone since the end of September.

Rio is pretty jealous - wants our attention all the time.
He'll sit on my shoulder & pull my hair with one foot
& then give me kisses when I turn my head.

I'm sure once Bow is mature they will be friends.
Bow is very quiet - Rio is even louder now he has competition.

Forgot to mention our new cage.  We got a Vision L11.

Right now Rio has the new cage to sleep in.
Soon we hope to have both birds in it at night - that is the reason behind buying such a big cage.
All day both birds are out and about.
I put the cage feeders on top of the cage for the day - they are really nice feeders.  At night though - we use the  old bucket types and have them by the perches.  Our Budgies like to snack at night & early in the morning.
Rio likes to wander on the bottom grate & look out of the plexi-glass.

The New Play Gym
I harvested some Mulberry branches this fall & finally got a new perch made.

New Update
Bow is fitting in really well.  Rio & he are already friends.

We bought a few chew toys & new foods recently

Here are a few things on top of the cage.
The cage is under constant redecorating.

For the past 3 days Bow has been inside almost all day - playing & preening & loving the cage.  But still uses his small cage at night - we are hopeful they will be together soon.

Bow loves my husband - always climbing all over him.

Here the 2 lads are enjoying their new chew toys.

Bow enjoys foraging

He & Rio love this coconut shell - lots of frustration is
released on its surface. LOL

Bow has 3 dots on his right beard & 1/2 of one on his left side.
He is just now 3 months old & just starting his juvenile molt.

Bow has been helping me wash up in the mornings. He will even hop on my hand & drink from the faucet. Afterward he tried out this small bowl.
It was so sweet.  No repeats so far.
