The Wee Laker, playing on his Boing by the frost covered windows.

This was Blue - I really loved him but he's gone now.
 This is Adam
- he'
s about  4 years old. He lives with my parents in the country.  He is terrified of cars so he doesn't get to go to the working part of the farm with my father.  When I visit we play frizbee (you can see his toy at his feet) & go for many walks.  He's quiet big for a Border Collie.  His friend, Blue disappeared last year - there are bad Coyote issues in their area & my parents suspect their neighbours shot him.  Blue was a goofy dog - an Australian Heeler - & very smart.

Adam waiting for me to get going - such a patient dog.

I took this photo in the  summer 2006, just after we got him.  Here he is  enjoying the summer sun, while looking out at the city from our balcony.

I love to see him all puffed up after a nice thorough preening.
These were taken In January '07.

You'd think he was fat!

Laker is stretching here.

Here is Laker cuddling with my warm tea mug & falling asleep.

Laker is continuing to be a little darling.  Yesterday he was calling & calling to my husband as he worked in the office.  Laker was in the bedroom/studio, next door - on his gym & able to fly to his cage for food & water.  My husband called to him a couple of times to get him to 'come' & finally he gathered up enough courage to try.  He couldn't see my husband at all.  He flew out of our room and around the corner to land on the library style table lamp.

Laker is enjoying a Carrot top - he's kind of nervous when i give him the wet bushy stalk but once I tap it with my finger he comes over to investigate.  He's really starting to get into greens.  He nibbles the leafy bits & chews the stalk - so far the carrot itself is being ignored - so we can share & there's no waste!  I got this idea of using Carrot tops from a woman in L.A. S. California.  These are washed organic Carrots - the carrot was my lunch as I'm on a diet & trying to increase my live foods consumption.

Valentine's Day in Toronto's West-end.

Here  are 2 shots  out the Office Window - we are on the 29th floor, looking North East.  Notice how our buildings shadow the neighbourhoods east of us.  It is a mixed blessing for them in the summer.

It's a freak-snow storm & Laker is staying as far away as possible.

There's no wind & the snow flakes are in 1/2" or 10cm bunches.

I put Laker out on the balcony this morning for a few  minutes.
At first he was quite appalled by the surprising white stuff falling into his cage, but he relaxed in  a few minutes.

I don't think Snow is his thing.

Look at the fat Snow Flakes! They're falling very slowly.

I always put evergreen boughs in flower pots on my balcony, in Winter,
so it is  less bleak - they stay green till May !

What a nice way to start the day.28_4_8.gif
