Week of 8 January 2006
Yesterday I had a big day. I went to visit our friend Dane at his Mom's house in Lakeside, CA. We had a half hour drive in the car, and then when I got there everyone made a fuss over me. And there was another bird in the house, Maya, an Indian Ringneck Parakeet. He's yellow and very vocal, and liked chatting with me. I ate a lot of salted almonds, and also some of the lunch I brought with me, and sat on Dane's shoulder for awhile too. There were lots of fun things in their house because Dane's dad was an artist. He made things with lots of parrot toys on them, like pieces of wood and little toys and animals, and colored glass. They were all painted very bright and colorful too. Oh what I would have given to crawl around on one of them and chew...er... I mean... explore. I also got to pose with Dane's Oscar and I hope I will get one too someday for my sound effects. We stayed for about 6 hours and I was very tired on the way home.
Today I'm relaxing and singing and playing with my toys. It is fun to be home too.
Here's me at Dane's house. Isn't that the coolest parrot toy hanging on the wall?!

This week I am learning to do a duck and a loon. I learned the duck when my mom was singing "Old McDonald" in the car; then she got me a .wav file to listen to :-) She has the loon on her cell phone for me to hear. They are cool birds. I can do them both almost perfectly now.
