...Drumroll please! A few weeks ago, I added the lovely Petunia to my family. She's a female (I think) pearl cockatiel, and she's about 3 months old now (maybe not, I don't remember the exact day I got her) And she's adorable! He gave us some tips on how to start Berto foraging (I never thought he'd understand it, one time I gave him one of those cardboard boxes with seed in it and he did not get it at all) and we're easing Berto into it. Right now I just have dishes scattered all over the cage, they don't have the paper over them yet, but I think it will take him a long time to adjust. He's been doing this for about a month. Getting her has also lead me to the conclusion that the store I got Berto from is not so great. I bought her at the same place, but a breeder sold her to the store instead of her being born at the store like Berto was. She was only there for a day or so while Berto was there for his first 7 months and I think that's why he's a little crazy. But I still love him. He still picks, but I've sort of accepted that it might just be something I have to live with. It's obviously not hurting him too much, and this foraging/other bird is pretty much the farthest I can go in terms of entertainment for him. He's made a lot of improvement, but I'm learning to accept him as he is. (Though I never loved him any less for his picking.) And that's all for now! Sara
