Ana is regurgitating and re-eating food  Reply with quote

Ana has been regurgitating and re-eating her food. She's done this 2-3 times today. Some of her poop is still watery. She's still as active as she usually is though. Should she see a vet?

EDIT: And that only counts for what I saw after I got home from school. She just did it again a minute ago, too. To be honest, I'm afraid I accidently let her get into some cookie dough that was out Embarassed

It was chocolate chip with big easter shape sprinkles. It didn't look like she eat any of the chips but she did get a bit of the dough and the sprinkles.

hmmm that's kinda interesting. may be you should at least give the avian vet a call and see what they say.. To take her in or not. Sorry I don't know what else could be going on with her.

If I remember right, birds can get saminila (spelling Confused ) poisoning from raw eggs, which is an ingredient in cookie dough Shocked I suggest taking your bird to the vet. Better safe than sorry.

It sounds to me like she is trying to feed you, like she would a baby chick, or a mate. And that's perfectly natural & normal. Or at least, my macaw & sennie both do that ocaissioanally. Tho, if that's what she is doing, the behavior is better left ignored & not encouraged. Does she do that when you're holding her, talking to her or giving her some kind of attention?

However, knowing that Cheeta & CM are both very experienced parronts, like they said, it might be best to at least ring up the avian vet & get his/her opinion Very Happy
