| Cheeky, our Ledbetter Cockatoo is vomitting. |

Cheeky, our Ledbetter Cockatoo is vomitting this morning. Seems to be water, and some pear he ate last night. He seemed fine, then a litttle lethargic this morning. Could he have a stomach virus? |

Hi
Sorry to hear about your Cheeky... I hope he's feeling better now.
Is he still vomiting? is he acting normal? I'd say that take him to the avian vet if he isn't better. I'm not sure if they get stomach virus or not. Sorry. |

The vomiting & lethargy worries me! I would say you should definitely at least call an avian vet right away & talk to him about it!
Good luck! I hope everything turns out OK! |

Welcome to fluffies..
A leadbetter? How nice!
Please consult an avian vet asap. Vomitting isn't a good thing. Especially if combined with being lethargic.
Please keep us posted.. |

I thank you so much for your support, but I am sorry to tell you that
our Cheeky has passed. We were on the phone to the vet and holding him when it happened, which all progressed so quickly. He was 27 years old and lived a long healthy life.
We were amazed at the immediacy of replies from others in the forum. Fluffies truly is a wonderful place on the internet, full of beautifiul birds and the people who love them. My children and I have really loved seeing pictures of Zazu and his friend.
sincerely, Jeannie Shuckstes

Oh Jeannie, my goodness! I'm just so, so sorry
Hugs & condolances hun ... I'm glad you're able to find some solace in knowing that your dear Cheeky did live a long, healthy, & I'm sure happy, life. That's all any of us can hope for our beloved winged friends. |

Oh no Jeannie, I'm so very sorry to hear about Cheeky. He knew that he was loved, and now you have a winged Angel sitting on your shoulder watching over you. I'm truely sorry.
Did you end up finding out what did happen to Cheeky? Do you have other birds that may have caught what Cheeky had?

Awww poor Cheeky At least he got to pass away in your arms, which I'd say is the most comforting place to be. |
