Hey Shirin, I read that Dandelion also contains lots of betacarotene. (I think there is no food containing vitamin A, just betacaroten, or am I terribly wrong here? )
And do they also eat palm oil? That is also high in betacaroten! |

Betacarotene is found in plants. The rule of thumb is the darker or more orange, the more betacarotene. Non-organic produce has very little betacarotene, so choose organic if you can: carrots, sweet potato, apricot, spinach, dandelion...you get the idea.
Vitamin A comes from animal sources, like fish oil, liver, and eggs.
Many animals can convert betacarotene to vitamin A in their bodies. People can; cats can't. |

Well, I'm glad things turned out okay Shirin. Good luck on the pellet conversion I didn't really think doves were capable of eating pellets I guess that's a good example of why just about any bird should be on a pelleted diet verses all seed. I would have thought that seeds would be their main source of food too |
