Scales coming off??  Reply with quote  

My grey has 2 scales one on each feet looking like they are coming off is this normal or what? the ones just above the claw..!!!

I don't think it's something to worry about then. Unless you notice her picking at it and making it bleed.

Is it like a chunk or just maybe some flakey skin? Their little scales shed skin and they generally just groom them off. Is your grey getting regular baths? I'm assuming that Egypt can get rather dry, therefore, your bird requiring a bit more moisture. Offer a shallow water bowl, about 1 inch of water in it so he can bathe as often as he wants.

Yeah, I agree that it's probably due to the dry climate. If you do offer water for him to bathe in, just be sure not to leave the bath water in his cage when he's unsupervised.
