My little Kaya( a budgie) has scaly face mites and I have been putting vaseline on the affected areas on he cere and beak....I just ordered SCATT which should be here within a few days....has anyone used this with success? I've read of other who said it worked well....just wondering what everyone thought

Scaley face is budgie is very easy to treat, the best thing for them is a medication called ivermectin (sp?) it's like a drop on treatment (sort of like those you use for flea treatment in dogs and cats but not as strong)
I have heard SCATT works but you also have to suffocate the mates by applying vaseline gel? I don't know, I've never used it to treat any of my budgies, and I have 23 of it. Whenever I see scaley mites, I used the drop on methods, it's soooo easy and simple!! Provided that I can catch the budgie to start off with!!! LOL
