| Wattery poop? |
|
|
My Mollybird's droppings have looked a little runny for the past few days, do you think this is something to worry about?
she isn't "acting" sick - her activity level is normal (hyperactive as ever! javascript:emoticon(' ') ) and she is eating normally (plenth of plants, cereal and seeds) - but I am a worrier!
Also, she has been sneezing a bit more than usual, but she just began molting a doctor I spoke to at the brightwood bird clinic said that her sneezing was most likely caused by the masive ammounts of fluff and dust she has been producing while molting- could this also be the source of the wattery poop?
thanks!

Oh, I'm such a worrier too & don't blame you!
Well, I would agree that the sneezing may be due to all the dust associated with the moult.
The poopology always is a source of concern for me with my fids. The last time I took my macaw into the avian vet for clear (I'm talking like plain water!) stools, he agreed that it didn't look normal, but ran a culture & it was fine. He recommended I add just a few drops of apple cider vineger to his drinking water. I now just add a teaspoon of vineger to a gallon of water that I give to all my fids.
I would just watch her closely for the next day or 2 to see if it gets worse, or if you're concerned call the avian vet & talk to him.
Someone else on here also mentioned that citrus foods can make their stools liquidy. |

Just wondering: Is it still easy to separate the liquid part from the ‘wormy’ part or is it one mass? (I hope I use the right words)
I’m not an avian vet, but I’d say that nothing bad is going on. If you don’t trust it, please consult your avian vet. |

My birds poop has a watery consistency after they eat a large helping of fruits or veggies, drink a big gulp of watery or after they take a bath. Could this be what is happening.
If your bird is sneezing, it is possible that he has some dander or fluff in his nose or has a cold. One of my parents budgies had a cold once.
My cockatiel, Lily, sometimes sneezes when there is alot of fluff in the air. |

thank you for your responses! Her poop looks fine now (it was probably due to a large helping of veggies), I'm just a worrier.
