| More Eggs! |
|
|
Ok, so i though that i had two female silver ringneck doves because they layed three eggs, i removed the 3 eggs and they layed two more..
And i think one is fertile, because i could feel the pulse.
Is it possible one female could have layed 3 eggs?
They layed these two eggs about a week ago, and i left them in the nest and i thought she'd lose interest in them because there two female, but now i think ones a male, and i have a fertile eggs so i can't destroy the egg now. |

I doubt that one female would have layed 3 eggs. Unless she layed them like 2 weeks apart. Have you candled the eggs? After 2-3 days of them having been layed, you will be able to see blood vessels inside the egg if you put a flash light to it. Is i possible that one of them could have mated with one of the tangerines?
Also, male behaviour is really distinctive, and there's no mistaking it. If none of the 2 is acting like a male, then she most definitely is not a male. Like have you seen either of them chasing the other and bowing and cooing? Like this--> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATDxxZNS-28 If you have a male, he will do this for sure, pretty much all day. It's hard to miss. |

Oh Yeah, one of the silvers bows and coos, Male.
These Doves have really confused me, the silvers couldn't have mated with the tangerines because they fought and i seperated them in minutes.
I candled the eggs today and i can see veins in both of them!
But maybe i just have a hen that could lay 3 eggs? |

well when the chics hatch you'll know who the daddy is It's very strange that she may have laid 3 eggs, but I suppose your dove has defied the rules
Anyways, congratulations on having fertile eggs! Woohoo! |
