Shirin, you're not an overprotective mommy. You had every right to be worried! Glad to hear she's doing better! |

I have no clue of course now I can't possibly give her away, because I have to keep an eye on her I think that was her plan all along |

Yep, I will Monika I've had some tests this week at school, so I haven't been able to miss any classes, but I will take her by the end of the week hopefully.
She is doing great though. The sweetest thing happened today! I was holding KeeshMeesh close to her so he can coo to her, and she started preening his face!!! Aaaaawww |

Shirin - have you named baby girl dove yet?
Also, how do you know its a girl? Are doves sexually dimorphic? |

No I haven't named her I just call her baby. I usually don't name the babies if I know I will more than likely give them away, because I don't wanna get too attached.
No doves aren't sexually dimorphic, other than the adult male being slightly bigger than the female. The way to tell the sexes apert is by behaviour, which at this age is still not obvious. Another way to tell, although recent research shows that it's not fool proof, is that doves lay 2 eggs, each egg containing one sex. The first egg to be layed is normally the male, and the 2nd is the female. But again, this is not the case 100% of the time, but so far with my babies, it always has been the case. This baby was the 2nd egg to be layed. |
