Happy Endings Goose & Duck Sanctuary  Reply with quote

:lol:Well well look what I found :lol:Now how would yall know I have geese and ducks too Wink

Most of you might know that I started a sanctuary year or so back. I started with just having my own flock of geese that were my mothers and when she pass away I took them in. In that flock was a goose who was when he died 19 years old Crying or Very sad . We really miss him .

The next move was getting this computer and finding the Pet Ducks are Us group on the Web. Then came a plea for help in re-homing 5 ducks from south Florida. Well guess who spoke up Laughing The ducks were brought to me and it all began Laughing

Next came the 4 legged duck "Quddie and his buddy "KD" That story is on the Carolinia Waterfowl Web site you can read all about it. I had been supporting these two ducks and when it came time to find tham a forever hime I was asked to take them. So of course they are here with us now. Q, who use to be Quddie is a happy and a healthy 2 legged duck now thanks to some wonderful people who had a big heart to take on such an operation. Q & KD have found their "forever home" as I like to call it. Very Happy

Then there is a wonderful lady who runs Lame Duck Rescue. She and I have become friends and I take in what I can from her. You can also pull up that on the web to see what ducks and geese that she has helped.I am happy to say that I have many rescues here which came from her place.

I don't live on a lake but we turned over our 24 foot wide above ground pool to all the flock this past summer so they all have a wonderful time in there. We have 5 acres of land which is also helpful for all the different pens we have to have for different groups. Laughing

I have to say here that I don't let any of my ducks and geese sit and raise babies. There are so many "dumped" animals I sure don't want to ever add to that (if I can help it).I really enjoy sitting out on the deck and watching them have a good old time in the pool, it is very relaxing. Of course Romeo says 'Good morning quack quack" and tells them " get in the water" while looking out the window at them Laughing

And "NO" we don't eat them either (John). I have also never adopted any out, they all become family so I don't let them go. Razz Today I have;27 waterfowl and in a few months will be adding another 10 or so to our sanctuary. If you all would like to see pics of them I can add them to my diary Smile I think there might be a few already posted but can't remember this late at night Laughing

Im sure you all have heard enough about my flock of ducks and geese so I'll close and say good night Wink

Very Happy Im happy to say Q is no longer a 4 legged duck. That extra pair of legs was removed last year. You can read the story about Quddie and KD on:

www.carolinawaterfowlrescue.com

I'll look to see if I have pics of Q when he was Quddie on my diaries if not I'll post the one of when Quddie was first rescued.

Yes they all love the pool Laughing I hadn't been in it for the last 4 years so I told my husband we might as well put it to good use. I only wish I would have done it sooner so I could have been enjoying them these past years. Last year I bought 60 feeder fish and put them in there and called the ducks and geese up and boy did they have a great time catching those fishy Laughing
