I don't think there are any obvious colour variations withing the male subspecies, they all look like that. Only females have obvious colour differences. |

I'm pretty sure thats a Vosemaeri Eclectus with that bright blue either that or a Solomon's Island Electus |

Hmm I checked out that site Shirin, thanks!! I think it would most likely be either a vosemaeri or a red-sided.. |

Hmm...maybe they do all look the same. Or very similar, anyway.
I though that this particular eclectus looked a little darker than most males I have seen, and he has such an amazing red eye... But it may just be the lighting in the photograph that makes him look that way.
Thanks. |

I know this is old but that is a vos. RS's don't have the red rim around their eyes, there's is more orange/brown & all subspecies do have the blue. |

Everyone is right that the males have much more subtle differences between subspecies than the females.
We'd really have to see the whole body to see the body shape (and even size) and the tail length and amount of yellow edging, in order to tell. Also the color looks hard to tell with that lighting they have.

My Money is that it is an ARU Eclectus. They're larger then the VOS
