| Escape from a "closed?!" cage |
|
|
After earlier "outbreaks" of April from her previous cage, today Franka and Frodo surprised me. When I arrived from my work Franka sat on the cage and Frodo in his boing. A first quick look showed that their cage is still closed and the door is locked.
After I hung up my coat and tidied up a few things I got back in the room. After a further investigation I found out how they got out. I showed that I had not closed a feedingdoor with it's lock. Of course Franka and Frodo found that out, pushed open the door and got out through the small space that they created. After they got out with climbing somehow they closed the door (no not with the lock). Because of that it looked like they got out of a closed cage. Smart little devils.

How bout a King's cage Bih? Starion has one. I don't think all their cages have the same lock, but the cage she is in has the best lock ever! I've never seen another one quite like it. It has this heavy spring loaded lock that is even pretty hard for my fingers... not only that, but you also move a peg on the latch in two positions - over, then down into a grove and that is tightly spring loaded too. It is also positioned with the cage frame so that it is impossible to get to from the inside. Even then, the spring is so tight that it takes some finger muscle in all of the positions (3 steps that it takes to open/close), to be honest, it is kind of a pain, but it is a good one. The lock is hard to describe, but it is probably the only one out there that is this amazing.
She is the only one I'd worry about having a good lock on anyway. Robin and Gryffin don't even try to get out. They're not at all as active and inquisitive as Starion is. |
