I got him , through a friend of mine I now have a 6 month old male Eclectus, and I'am totally in love with this little guy, I named him K C and he says a few words, the lady that I got hm from was not sure if he is a SI or a Vos , I took some pics of him today, can someone tell me which one he is, heres the pics

I have a Question , do Ekies have a musty smell to them, that's why I decided to put in him in the shower today

Congratulations on getting KC. Nice pictures he for sure does look good and has already a beautiful candycorn color beak. KC is just a little older than my youngest couple of ekkies. I can imagine you are totally in love with him. I saw the pictures already on LoV, but here I could see a movie as well. Very nice.
Lots of people (although not everyone dares to admit this) like the smell of their ekkie. Also not every eclectus smells the same. Has also to do with the foods they are eating. But I like the smell of my 4 ekkies special after they had a shower. They are than so fresh and "special".
But as other animals and us humans, the eclectus likes to have a regular bath or otherwise being sprayed. This is also good for him in taking care of his feathers. |

Hey Congrats! He's a cute littly guy alright. I have a beautiful 15week old and he has his own smell as well. I actually like the smell of my Ekkie but he doesn't smell musty to me, more like a warm birds nest or the smell of a newborn babies head. My Ekkie, "Oliver" gets a shower every day, sometimes he just sits and props and other times he prefers to splash a bit in a little bath instead. After his shower/bath is the best because I put a little towel around him and we snuggle on the couch. He always puts his beak on my cheek and chatters to me ever so softly. Such a sweet little guy. |
