Thanks Cheeta, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I check her wing every time I do therapy on it to make sure everything is okay. So far so good. Rolling Eyes

I hate pulling blood feathers too, but it has to be done.I find that the birds are usually ok once it has been done, if annoyed for the small amount of pain, and the indignity of being stuck in a towel for the process. So far I've only managed to pull out blood feathers with someone holding the towelled bird and holding the wing out for me, so I can put pressure on the base of the feather with one hand and pull it out with the other... can anyone explain how to do it with just one person, as I'm worried one day that its going to happen when I'm alone.

I held the bird in the towel with my left hand using my middle finger, ring finger, and pinkie for real support...I got the wing with my fore finger and thumb and held it out as best I could....with my dominant hand I used the pliers and got as close to the skin as I could...(he was not very still for me...I wouldn't have been either) gritted my teeth and pulled.
it was kinda hard but actually easier than it sounds....when push comes to shove and anyone is in that situation that the feather has to come out quickly....everyone would figure out a way that is most comfortable for them.....
