| dark around beak |

hi! alita is doing well - adjusting sloowwwwllly to her new home. she rubs her beak a LOT on her wood perch (it's manzanita wood), and lately i've noticed that the feathers around her beak are super dark - i don't know if it's from rubbing her beak so much, or if it's something else - does anyone know?!
i would hate for it to be a sign of her being sick and me not know about it!
thanks!

Oh I don't think she's ill or anything?? I am not very familiar with manzanita.. Perhaps someone else can help you out? |

Maybe it's an age thing? I don't know much about parrotlets (at all!), but maybe their color changes as they mature?
I don't think it has anything to do with the manzanita. Or, at least I've never had the dark of it rub off onto my birds anyway & I use quite a bit of manzanita. |

hi,
thanks for the replies - the dark spot went away! i think maybe it was just some of the darkness of the bark rubbing off onto her beak. she's still only about 4 or 5 months old, so i don't think it's age quite yet
thanks for your help! if it happens again, i'll post a picture of it!
thanks!!!
