Have you ever had a parrot would have to be my first question.
Honestly, the advice I would give you would be to read, read, read. Get on the internet visit some bird stores and find one that fits your lifestyle.
I would always suggest a Senegal, but I am a little influenced by my sweety |

I totally agree with Demeter. What type of parrot you should get totally depends on your lifestyle. For example, do you live in an apartment or a house? Will too much noise bother you or your neighbours? How much money do you want to spend? How much time do you have to spend with your bird? Do you own any other pets, or do you have children? There's so much more to consider before you chose one species. So as Demeter said, do your research, and maybe narrow it down to what birds you think might suit your lifestyle, and then maybe we can be of more help |

I am probably too late (have not checked the date of that post) but I totally agree. You need to research and investigate before you make the decision. I have owned birds since I was 14 (been with birds all my life though) and I still researched before I got my ekkie and now my baby alexandrine. Some people prefer smaller birds some prefer bigger birds. They are all capable of talking and doing tricks if trained and handled properly, but some are able to make more noise and louder noise than others. It also depends on your finances too. The larger the bird the more expensive the cages will be because they will need more room, their toys are more expensive too etc etc. I myself prefer the medium/large birds, but that is my preference and have owned budgies, cockatiels, canaries, finches etc as well as sulfer crested (very big and loud and destructive, but lovely anyway) and a galah (medium, not as noisy or as destructive and sweet natured) an Indian ringneck (turned nasty after a while) cockatiels (very sweet natured and lovely pets) budgies (very good talkers and good little pets. So do some research and think about it. I like the ekkies and alex's because they are not as needy as the 'too type birds (but my ekkie sure can give a 'too a run for it's money when she screams. LOL) but they do still love to be with you and interact with you and can talk extremely well and are easily trained too.
Sorry for going on and on LOL |

Princess parrots apparently make excellent little pets. I know a couple of people on other boards who own them and they say wonderful things about them. |

Hi icy29! Like everyone else said, make sure you research the species and absorb as much info you can on personality, diet, health concerns and time you should spend with your bird so they stay happy. |

Good luck with whatever you decide on! I don't have any of those types of birds & don't know much at all about them, except that they're all beautiful
There are some very omportant things you need to know BEFORE bringing baby home, so please, please read & learn about caring for & living with him or her. Never, ever stop learning |
