That's great to hear that things went so well & all is fine for Frankie!
The first time I took Manu to the avian vet, the vet was just great! He didn't pay any attention to Manu at all, he just talked to me for quite awhile, asking questions, didn't even look at Manu straight on. then he turned his attention to Manu & talked a bit in the same tone he talked to me in. Manu had NO problem with him at all!
One time when the vet was out of town, I took him in to his associate for a wing & nail trim, & he wasn't good at all I'll wait for the regular avian vet from now on! |

lol he asked general questions and every thing else but since we came home and i let him outof the carrier, he has just sat on the perch on top of his cage, he hasnt come and sat withus or noting, even when we were eating he didnt come down to get something like he normally does is this usual, is he just tired or abit upset or something i have been trying to get him down but he just turns his back. i cant beleive he hasnt even come for food, hes so gready if he thinks theres food there and theres not he goes over to check and he always sits and watches the tele with us its so not like him

You know Manu is always very stand offish, & quiet & less active when I've had him into the vet. If I have his wings clipped, he's that way for 3 days, I'm sure he feels defenseless & just different & is unsure! I always feel very bad But since I don't think Frankie had his wings clipped, perhaps he's just a bit tired from the trip & feeling a little out of sorts with the "new" beak & nails trimmed. I'm sure he'll be back to normal very soon. |

Hi Sami
It's good that you finally got Frankie to the vet. Did he have the wellness check done as well or just grooming?
Don't worry about him being stand offish, all 3 of my birds are like that when they first come back from the vet or grooming. Especially the lovebirds, they get very quiet for the rest of the day and even though their cage door is open, they don't want to come out. But they usually get over it after a couple of days |

i got him checked over aswell!,
also i am pleased to tell every one he is back well and good and is twice as busy as he has been lol,
it was a bit tiring for him because we normally go out in his travel cage but it will just be for a little walk out so he aint been in for that long before aswell as the fact he has never been in the car before tho he had great plesure watching out of the window lol,
