LOL. that's funny.
I'm not sure how correct I am with that. But may be the tail somehow obstruct them, or makes a good place to grab on to. who knows. But it's darn cruel alright. |

I have heard a crow talked very well, all because the tongue was snipped a little. Go figure. I don't think that's the case with Parrots though as they have rounded tongue, where as birds like crow have flat tongue. I hope that made sense.
I have asked this on the Dutch board..
And she said that crows talk very well without their tongue being clipped.. (Just wanted to be sure, not that I would EVER think of cutting a tongue by the way he he he) |

Hmmm may be it's something else then. I'll have to look into it more. I was really young back then. All birds are the same to be back then. He he he. But thanks for finding out though. |

Bih, I wasn't thinking that you had the slightest idea of this being ok. You were just thinking of the background, which is ok! |

You're welcome Bih..
I just wanted to be sure. And, I certainly didn't think you were able to do this to a bird.. Or that you'd approve it.. |

he he he. To be honest, when I was a lot younger, like a lot lot lot younger.... like way before preteens..... I thought that it was cool to slit the tongue so the bird can talk. of course that was way way back when I didn't know anything about birds!! now well I would report any of such activities to the appropriate authority for cruelty to animals!!!! Better????? LOL |

Hey I didn't know about the ban in Victoria!! That's great to hear. I wonder if they actually have such ban here in Western Australia. I'll have to check it up next time I'm at the vet or something. Cheers |
