Hello everybody.
I'm very worried about my CAG! Since yesterday she is VERY quiet, she doesn't communicate with me like usual, and she is sitting with her beak in her feathers on the back. I NEVER saw her sitting like that in the middle of the day!
She had a bath yesterday... Could she get sick? I think she is cold. Because she starts to speak and play a little when I turn on air-condition(on heating). What should I do in that case? (I would ask for advice from an avian vet, but we have no any here )
And something else... I gave her a nut yesterday afternoon, and then I eat one - and it wasn't good! Could she suffer from poisoning?
I've checked all her poofs - no changes, good as always.
I haven't notice any other changes like bad balance or lack of apetite.
Any ideas what it could be? |

Well, I'm certenley not an expert, but have you had your CAG tested for any dissises? Or maybe avian flu, I don't wanna scare you, I'm just brainstorming. |

It's seems that she was in a bad mood for 3 days, that's all. I was keeping her warm and wasn't showering her for a week and now she is better then ever! I even had a thought, that maybe she wasn't in a mood because of new feathers. She has many of them coming ...
She is soooooo NAUGHTY!
But I know that Cags are aces in hiding seakness... So I'll keep close eye on her for a week or so.
Thank you all for your concern.
Have a good spring with your fids! |

Hi Lusylia,
I am so happy for you.
I think that you are right about the new feathers. It is for a bird something to get a bit grumpy about.
Why is she so naughty????????????????
What did she do? |

What did she do?
What didn't she do? - this is correct question!
Starting from chewing rubber connection of our refrigerator... ... and ending with making holes in EVERY apple she found in the house (about 15!) while she was out of her cage & I was doing the dishes!
And then she was hiding for 10 min, and I could not find her anywhere...
After getting bored she came out... She was hanging in the curtains form the side of the window (and probably was checking out the out world ). And most amaizing thing - she didn't make any sound whole 10 minutes
This was NOT a complete list of Sylia's naughty behaviour |

Hi Lusylia,
I am coming over to you Lusylia.
I am coming for a homemade apple pie.
You shoud let Sylia more out of her cage.
PS: That was a cheap outbreak. I have heared stories of parrot, that during an outbreak completely ruined a room. Chairs, tables and cabinets missing big pieces. And all of the furniture was brand new. |

Missing pens?
I have no pen left which was not chewed
It's NOT possible to write anything with Sylia out of the cage, she attacks them (and your hands ).
Thanks God she doesn't have a bad habit to chew wood furniture

My Senegal does not like remote controls and mobile phones. He will bite you to warn you that there is something dangerous in the area. And is not a soft warning. What I do is: I ahe my Senegal on my hand and with my other hand I use the remote control form under a magazine. It works for me. |
