Vacuuuum!  Reply with quote

I need a new vacuum cleaner. I have an old one that is dedicated to use in the bird room but it is a really old electrolux from the 70s. It has had it and I need a new one. Does any one have a really good vacuum that they would recommend? I need one that picks up everything from shredded wood, pellets to shrivelled fruits and veggies. I am sure you all know what I mean .... Very Happy

thank you.

hey Kelly

If you're willing to pay for a good one, I would strongly recommend getting one of the Dyson vacuums. I am currently using 'the ball' from Dyson...

http://www.dyson.com/range/ran.....e=pagelink

I'm using the yellow one on the page. I've got a bonus pet turbine head, so it works really well, not that I use it anyway as the actual vacuum cleaner works real well. It can be use as pull along or an upright vacuum cleaner. Very Happy It's great. It picks up from the smallest of dust, to some pretty big chunks of food Apollo throw around the place!!! LOL

Check out all the dyson product and see which one fits you most. Very Happy Cheers.. Like I said, if you're willing to pay, Dyson is definitely the way to go> Very Happy

My mum has a little 'pull along' Dyson that I just loved. It's so small but just as powerful as the big old Vax my dad bought over 10 odd years ago! (And that thing is huge compared to the little Dyson). One day I'm gonna get me a Dyson Smile

Ohhh goody, am I jealous of your vaccuum cleaner, Bih! Smile We talked about this and I still haven't replaced my old dyson. (Which isn't very good anymore, it turns off when it gets overheated, and the electrical wire goes in automatically when I don't want it to go in Evil or Very Mad )

He he he, yeah it sounds a bit scary, doesn'it? The wire leading its own life? It's surely about time that I get a similar dyson like you have.

Well, I could be wrong, but I remember being amazed by it when I first saw it advertised, it doesn't seem too long ago. I figured they would be way out of our price range since they were so new, like new kinds of electronic stuff. So I was amazed when I saw the prices on that web site.

You know, even though that we've had them here in Australia for a few years now, but the price is pretty much still the same from when they first brought it in... I pay $999AUD for mine... but I got the mini pet turbine head as a bonus deal with it at the time (they don't normally come with the pet turbine head)..

Hi Kelly-Anne

I have to agree that the Dyson line is pobably the best around for vacuums but it was way out of my price range.

I have a Eureka that I bought at WalMart for about 150USD.
It works pretty well on the mess Linus makes.

One very important feature is a HEPA filter on the exhaust. Many vacuums advertise the HEPA filter, but they are often only located between the motor and the trash collection tank. This stll allows the machine to spit out dust. with the filtered exhaust the vacuum will not spit out dust while you are using it.

I also prefer a vacuum with a bag. It seems like all of the companies are advertising bagless like it is a great idea. with bagless you have to empty the chamber into the trash, which just scattersit around more. yuck

hope you find one that you like

Genny

Thanks Bih!  Reply with quote

I wanted to thank Bih for recommending the Dyson, I recently bought one and it is spectacular! Very Happy I just love it! Definitely better than any vacuum I've ever used.

Kelly-Anne if you still haven't bought a vaccume, I bought mine at COSTCO, it came to about $650 including tax.

The fact that I'm getting so excited over a vaccume must be sign that I'm getting old Rolling Eyes
