Bih, your poor Budgies! So they never get "night time" day OR night I wonder when they sleep? I admit I go to bed really late, and they birds can hear me and see the faint light, so they really don't get a lot of sleep, but they do seem fine with the schedule. |

yeah i know... it's so bad...
I do see them nap in the aviary during the day, I guess that's what they do if they get tired. It isn't too bad, like it's not all that bright, but bright enough to keep some of the birds up and chirping that's all... |

Oh the joys of neighbours!
Poor Budgies
- or any bird in that area - they keep the light on to keep other animals away?
I guess i'd be getting the tarp out as well - it must put the birds under a bit of stress not getting night time. I would think even a dark corner would be appreciated. Mine do nap quite a bit during the day.
In Toronto it is very bright at night because of the city lights. Unless we close the drapes & cover the birds [they're in our room] they'd never settle down. Some nights are darker than others.
Laker comes to us at bed time trying to get our attention - more than any other time of the day - he can be quite persistent & then we remember it's bed time! Laker loves bed time - it's quiet time away from his pal! - why did we get another when he clearly enjoys being alone???? [well they do have some fun during the day time together.] Rio pretends he doesn't understand it's sleep time but he is getting into the routine. |

hehe, yeah neighbours.. i dont know why they keep the light on, but that's alright, I think the budgies are slowly figuring out that otherside of avairy is fairly dark, so slowly they are all slowly making their way across to the darker side at night. There are still a few that hasn't quite figured it out yet, either that or they like their spot so much that they are putting up with the light!!! LOL... oh well I'll just have to cover a part of the aviary side up for the night time. |
