Doesn't he sleep on a perch? It's very unusual for birds to sleep on the bottom of the cage, because even with respect to perches, they tend to pick the highest one in the cage to sleep on. Is Dobby completely healthy? sleeping on the cage floor is sometimes indicative of illness. |

Yes, I agree with Shirin. Sleeping on the floor is strange.
Maybe he likes to sleep in something. A lot of birds do that.
Like this tent of Iago

Well,he goes to the vet very often to get his beak trimmed, so I assume that he is healthy.
I figure it is because he likes to cuddle stuff, he rippes his paper and makes it into a nest, I can try to take some pictures. |

If Dobby is sleeping on the floor of his cage, because he wants to sleep in a nest. It is very cute
Please post some pictures
He would love a tent. |

He DOES have a tent, but he prefers the paper nest. So back to the question, DO WE SWITCH TO THE CARRIES??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? |

Hi Sveta,
Can you give a description of his carrier. How big is it? What kind of material is the carrier made of?
To be sure: Is the tent in his cage?
If his tent is in his cage, then you can also remove the papers from the bottom of his cage. Maybe he will start to use his tent as a sleeping place. It sounds a bit cruel and probably it is a little cruel, but maybe it is just the little push he needs to try his tent for sleeping.
You can also try his carrier, but I do not know how much he will like that.
What do you think Sveta? |

well, first he slept on a small teddy, ( I have very cute pics) Then in the tent, it's in the cage. And once I took the tent out to wash it and didn't put it back cause it was still wet, so he discovered the papers. The carrier is fabric, with windoes, ment for cockateil quaker sized birds, it's about seven inches wide, not too long,
PS If I switch should it be over time, or right away? |
