winterizing help!!  Reply with quote

hi, i am in the process of adopting a female red belly, and along with her, a new cage!!! It will be a double cage with the divider since i still have a senegal too.
heres a picture if you would like to see it.

http://www.parrot-and-conure-w.....vider.html

the problem is, the cage is large and my house is small!!! my mom agreed i could still get her if i keep the cage in our arizona room.

Now this will be fine in the spring through fall since i live in phoenix. But i need some help on what to do in the winter time. I know, you think it never gets cold here, but it does hit 30ish at night time in january and february.

Any suggestions???? Shocked

and dont worry, this is only for one or two more years so the cage will be inside eventually Very Happy im sure they will enjoy the wildlife :]

Wow!
That sounds exiting!
It must be nice for the birdys!
I know these budgies that live around me.
The owners keep them OUTSIDE all the time.
And the worst thing is, they don't give them attention.
So far the budgies are fine. I think the patio is a nice place for them.
Lots of sounds, views, other birds and people walking around is nice for the birds. Good Luck Very Happy

It is expensive Rolling Eyes
Thats a good idea! About the lamp...I don't know if the blankets will make warmth, thought it will take away any wind.

Ugh - I WISH I could afford a cage like that!! And if I could, I probably would also have preferred being my parrot than being myself... Wink

There's just one thing one can sadly never be too sure off before the time - whether the bird is actually going to like the cage or not... Mine is quite happy with his cage, but when I'm home he refuses to stay in there much longer! Shocked
