Sing? Define Sing, whisle yes.. Talk yes. Sing a song, I have never heard of them singing. But I have been told that they make some of the best talkers. It is jut that they talk so fast that they are hard to understand..Give him time to adjust and lots of TLC.... |

Hi there,
I don't know if I would call it singing, they're quite vocal. They chirp a lot. They're also known to be one of the better talkers/mimicers, but since their voice is so raspy, you really have to pay attention to hear what they're saying. |

Some can talk very well, some don't talk at all I've experienced both, my previous budgie would 'talk' rather than sing, but I think we must have talked to fast around him sometimes so most of it was incomprehensible except a few words that would come through really clearly, lol. Now I have another budgie and he doesn't say a word - but he makes the most interesting little chirps and twitters as he sings He even surprised my husband one day - his whistle sounded almost like mine! Haha, it really fooled him. |

I like to call it burbling. Not really a warble, more like their twittering to themselves. They do chatter as well, and as has been said some learn to talk. Generally, males will do more burbling, chattering, etc. than the females. Though my girls do their fair share also. If you're hoping for talking though I'd get a male. They "generally" talk more readily than a female. They also tend to be less nippy.
