Does your grey also sit still? Does it eat?
If not, please please take it to the avian vet ASAP! |

I agree with Sue, if he has suddenly plucked all his feathers and become quiet I suspect he may be sick, even if he isn't it's always good to have an avian vet rule that out to put your mind at ease. |

yes I agree... any bird that starts plucking suddenly needs to have it medically check out to rule out any sort of medical condition, then after then you can look at the emotional side of things. Please please take him to the vet to have it checked out. |

Hi James,
I live in Birmingham too and I take my bird to Amicus Vets in Solihull, he's an avian vet and he was fantastic with my cockatiel, I will definately take Bailey (senegal) there when I eventually get him that is as he's only 8 weeks old right now!

Hope this helps a little.

He has not pulled all his feathrs out just part of his body and they are crowing back he is lively and eats well and started talking last night, so i dont know if he is malting.

Was the feathers from one spot? or were you finding them at the bottom of the cage? Can you see a barespot that is not suppose to be there?
It could be molting, they do get quieter when they going through molting.
Keep us updated with his progress.
Oh and welcome to Fluffies. |
