Thanks Fluffy Sue, no don't worry though I would not jeapardise my fids. I have since found two possible vets, the one my parrot shop uses. He is a leading expert and another one who has just analysed Pico's poops for me. They are both a good hours drive away though so if it was to stop a bleeding toe again I would probably take him to my shop first to stop the bleeding. If I suspected anything serious I would of course go to a proper vet. My shop people wouldn't try to treat anything more than what they are used to in the day to day care of their parrots. They would send me straight to their vet if they had any concerns.
Ziggy is thankfully regaining his confidence although he freaked when I put an oven glove on across the other side of the kitchen! He is getting back to his loving self, he still doesn't babble as much though For your info, Pico was fine, I was just a bit concerned that his poops first thing were pretty yucky and a different smell and colour than before, I reckon it is because he is eating more Harrisons, pulses, fruit and veg as I have taken him off seeds or nuts completely now. He seems fit and well but I wanted to be sure, he was projectile pooping first thing too and I think just the distance to the floor made them look worse-yuck. |
