questions to ask  Reply with quote

I am going to be calling my future lovebird breeder soon and need help preparing a list of questions to ask. So far I have-
are you hand feeding them?
what do you plan on weaning them on?
water bottle or dish?
can I come visit?
can she email me pictures?
will they be tame and know basic "finger manners" a.k.a. step up and down?

and thats all I have so far. Some of them are not that great but I can't think of any thing else can you guys? Razz

just thought of another one- will they use a hut or not. some of them might be un-answerable right now because the babies are only about 2 weeks old right now. Maybe she will have a general idea of what she plans to do with them though...taming wise and such.

How about... how does the breeder know that her birds don't carry disease, and what precautions does she take to lessen the risk of disease introduced into her flock? That is not meant as an insult, but it is known that any bird, but especially Lovebirds and Budgies are known as carriers of certain deadly viruses. I'd be careful in this area... Smile
