Thanks Joti, I keep forgetting to do the lottery but if I did win a lot of money I could build a really good bird room with facilities to open it out into an outside aviary for good days so that my fids could be indoor pets but have the best of both worlds. I wouldn't want to breed them but I could give them a luxurious life as well as helping out a few of my favourite causes, I'll keep dreaming.

how did I miss this thread?!?!?!?!

Julie, do they really sell egg and hire incubator?? I saw the samething here in an australian website about selling eggs for like $30 and you can incubate it yourself.. it makes me wonder... they were selling macaw's egg for $30! and of course they included hyacinth macaw's egg.. which I don't think anyone would do that... sell the egg that is.. why? because they are just not available to buy in australia, and the fact that if you breed the bird yourself, you can actually fetch up to $40000 per bird.. now why would you sell their eggs then? Just wondering if it was a scam that people had put up.

I hope you'll get your galah one day. they are such little clowns.. Very Happy hubby had one before we got married.. well he bought it but it was for both of us.. Zac was 10 months old when he was stolen from the front verendah when we just happen to walk inside the house for a few minutes. Sad my parents have one too.. he's not tamed though, only will let my dad scratch him when he feels like it.. hehe.. cutie pie.. will have to take some pic of him.

Robin... that story is horrible!! I don't know how anyone can do that!!

with the feather selling thing.. I do know that some breeder/bird aviary sell the molted feathers from the breeding stock to make some money for the upkeep of the aviary and stuff... but it always makes me think.... if the birds carried any sort of disease, that's why I would never get feathers of any sort from anywhere.. well apart of duck or chicken feathers.. I have those. hehe

thanks Yupra.. that was almost three years ago now..or it might have been four, I don't really remember that much.
It is bad that someone would do that.. the sad thing is that galah doesn't even cost that much here to buy.. we got Zac for like $80 from a backyard breeder who loves galah!
