| Thinking about a green cheek |
|
|
Ok we are thinking about another bird...(lol its a desease) we are wanting something a bit more interactive we were thinking of a galah but conures were sugested to me and they sound really good .......all the personality in a smaller package... I guess I just wanted your guys opinion or any other suggestion....we are a family of 4 (2 adults 2 chn 10 + nearly 4) we want someone to be a part of the family not a one person type of bird and playful, and of course sociable ith the other birds |

I like green cheeks, but what about a Meyers parrot or a senegal? They are soo cute, and also soo energetic and playful, and acrobatic too. And they seem like very sociable birds. I don't own one of these, but I've played with them at the petstore. |

Oh ok, I was going to suggest a caique next, but I think they may be expensive too. Well I think green cheeks are great too! Maybe someone who has one can tell you more about them |

Hi Ksue,
Green cheeks are IMO exceptional as companion birds, even avairy kept ones have such an interest in humans, whats going on around etc. My two who are not handreared show such behaviour. They have a sunny disposition and readlily take food from the hand. Sociable little personalities |

There was a poll in Bird talk Magazine (last issue), and conures were rated as one of the top 3 friendliest companion birds the other 2 were cockatoos, and cockatiels. |

I think green cheeks are adorable! I met one for the first time yesterday. He/she was just the sweetest little bird ever! He was in one of those glass cages in a pet store and he let me pick him right up and was chewing on my finger nail really really gently. I sat there and played with him for awhile. If I would have had the money I would have brought him home. I will definately be adding a green cheek conure to my flock someday. |

| breeder in Vic |
|
|
Hi,
I am from Ocean Grove, Victoria and know of a local breeder who has Nandays and I think? Green cheeks. I have been out there a few times and he really seems to look after his birds very well. He hand raises them as well as having parent raised birds I think. Let me know if you would like his details. |
