| When a bird eats something shiny... |
|
|
Nova, who isn't a parrot, but a European starling, ate a tiny chain that was part of a bird-toy two days ago and he's going to see a vet tomorrow morning. His droppings and behaviors remain normal, but I'm worried about him. If he requires surgery, I wonder how high the risk is of complications for such a small creature. Have any of your birds managed to swallow something not meant to be eaten? |

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope Nova will be ok and does not require any surgery.
I can't say I've ever had anything like that happen to me,s o I can't really give any advise. Sorry. |

Thanks Cheeta--He turned out to be okay though. The Vet X-Rayed him and couldn't find any chain, so he must have passed it through *whew!* |

Ohhh I'm so glad to hear that there was no chain in her system!
Little Flit unfortunately passed away because of heavy metal poisoning. The small piece didn't pass his system.. |
