Building a playstand  Reply with quote

Okay.....so hubby and I are in the process of building a playstand for little Sera. We have everything we need and I can't wait to take some pictures when we're done of her enjoying it!

But......quick question.....

I think I remember seeing someone on here talking about using a hot glue gun to make sure all of the PVC piping is secure.

Was I right? Is that the correct thing to use? I don't want to use anything toxic to her.

Thanks!!

Just make sure when using the hot glue that it isn't accessable to your parrot. When I fill a cap with hot glue, I don't fill it all the way full, just enough for the glue to grab hold of the chain or rope Wink Just to be safe.

Got ya!

That is one of our weekend projects!

Along with powerwashing the house and vinyl fence, mowing the grass, washing the jeep, and cleaning the home office.

So glad it's a three day weekend!!!

It's just about done! We took some pictures yesterday when we were putting the finishing touches on it (ie, sanding it down).

Now, I"m going to go and glue sisal rope on the smaller perches and we'll be adding some plastic chain to it.

Now stainless steel is the 'okay' metal to use, right? We'll have to get some clips to anchor the chain.

But she gets a kick out of it already! She's so cute with it....just hopping all over the place. It makes me so happy that she just seems to enjoy it.

Hi Sassie,

I'm in the Columbus area.

And I'll get all the measurements and cost shortly. We are returning unused parts tonight so I'll be able to tell how much we really spent!

But I know it's almost 6 feet tall!

Yes....but they are on my husband's camera and he is out of town in Indiana for two weeks.

I'll see if he'll email them to me and I'll put them up in a diary page.

She REALLY loves it! I'm taking her there to play now while I watch a little TV.
