Corn Husks & bits  Reply with quote

This Fall i brought back some corn from my garden & thought the husks as well as the corn itself - would be fun for my bird.
I think the photos speak for themselves - except to say that Laker helped me weave the matt & has enjoyed the springing quality & chewiness of the woven toys - a lot. They also last a fair while.

I hope these are the right size to really see them & not too big either. Rolling Eyes

Hey, great weaving job! That's a great idea & I bet Laker loves chewing on that stuff! Hmmm ... I live in the land of corn fields, I'll have to get some next season!

I loved the toys you made for the fids. I know I use the husk from Walmart that they have for wrapping tamales my fids love tearing them up. Wink

Just a reminder to make those Corn Husk Toys
Tis the season - in the Northern Hemisphere at any rate!

I had corn on the cob the other day & i made the boys some new corn husk toys.
1)I tied strips of corn husk to willow branches & 2) i also made some hanging toys to hang on the cages & the gym. I just knotted lots of strips to a central piece & added loops at the end.

I'll post the efforts on my dairy page later - when i find my camera, it seems to have disappeared!!
