Hey Michelle
Great to have you back again.
I hope all are going well for Harley.
for foraging toys... you can wrap stuff up in papers, like a paper candy kinda deal.. or what I've done is to get a length of pvc pipe, and stuff that with papers and bits and pieces of almonds and nuts and all that in there, and let them pull it out bits by bits...
Wood wise, I'm not 100% sure on plants where you're at, but here, I can use many of the natives plant here such as bottlebrush, or eucalyptus.. I think apple branches is ok as well. you can give the wood a good washing and if small enough bake them on low in your oven, or let it bake in the sun
I would also use pine and cut those up in little pieces for them to shred. Apollo never shreds, so he kinda throw them around his cage instead!! LOL
Sorry I can't really help you with making a foraging tree as I dont have one and haven't made one before.. may be someone else will be able to help you there.
Good luck. |

Once I drilled holes in a log of wood and hammered nuts and other treats in it. Zazu loved it.
I also buy foraging toys in stores. |
