is this safe?  Reply with quote

Hey just me again!
my never ending search for corks that jazzy can take more than 2 seconds to destroy is not going so well, I think I will try something new... I came across some foam beads today and I just thought that maybe they might work. I have seen some online shops that use them on their toys but still I wanted to be sure... So are they safe for my little lovebird? He never ate or swallowed his cork nor his balsa wood. He loves to rip things apart. He has never taken an interest in dunking toys or food in his water dish(thank god!) so I don't think I have to worry about dyes (if there are any?) leaking from them into him. thats all I can think of how he plays with his little "wood" toys. But if you need me to answer some other questions I would be happy to oblige Smile

Hmmmm I don't know what you mean by 'foam beads'.. Never seen them here I think? Can you take a pic of them or do you have a photo of toys representing them?

What kind of foam? Do you mean like styrofoam? I think styrofoam is poisonous if swallowed, but not 100% sure. So I'd be careful.

I think I know what you mean with foam beads. Iīve read that they should not be given to parrots because if swallowed they tend to get stuck in their throats and if itīs really bad the bird can get suffocated. So I would not give these beads to my birds. Crying or Very sad

Yeah I wouldn't give that to your little lovie either.

An idea that you little one might like... get an old phone book and punch two holes in the spine and hang it up. Very Happy He'll have a field day destroying that if he likes shreding paper. Very Happy
