Hello ! I am Tiki. I am a Double Yellow Headed Amazon. My hatch date is June 11, 1996. Mom came to Rhoda's Parrots in early August 1996 and chose me!!!! Mom and Laura came to visit with me often so we could get to know each other. They brought me home September 23, 1996 when I had been weaned to solid food. I loved Laura best. Then Laura grew up and got married and moved out. I still can't believe she left ME for Danny!!!!!! I was really mad at her. I still love her, but I have my pride so I still have to be mean to her when I see her.

On June 11, 2003 Mom's grandson Andrew was born. I am happy he wanted to share my birthday with me.

 

 

I have been an only parrot until March 25, 2007. Then Buzz came to live with us. I have shown my displeasure about this. Mom says she loves me and there is room at the top for both of us. Buzz has been passed through several homes. Mom told me Buzz needs to be loved and cared for just as much as I do. I am trying very hard to cope with this new situation. I am behaving much better but sometimes I just can't help myself and I have to try to give mom a little nip. Mom keeps showing me and telling me how much she loves me. I think I am starting to like having another amazon around. I just don't want mom to catch on yet.  This is Buzz;

 

Buzz is a MEALY AMAZON. He needs to make a trip to the vet to get that beak trimmed.  I hope mom dosn't decide to take me along. I keep my beak sharpened..... ahhhh, I meant to say trimmed, on my cement perch. I think Buzz should be happy that mom has reinstalled his perch onto that bar on his playtop. Buzz does not seem to like being on the playtop. He likes the playstand or mom's arm better. Buzz needs to learn, mom's arm belongs to me. Did I just hear mom say that awful word "share" again?
